Sanity… is for the Weak

We’ll be catching the morning flight back home tomorrow. I guess one of the drawback of taking budget flights is the ungodly early hours they operate. Take into account that Phuket International Airport is about 45 minutes away from Patong, we’ll have to check out at 6am tomorrow. Oh well, early to bed, early to wake… so no night life for us… but then again, we don’t bar-hop anyway :p

We had brunch at the seaside eatery again, and this time trying the Fried Springrolls and Fried Glassnoodles. After that, we went shopping in Patong and discovered the Otop Shopping Paradise, a cheap place to buy stuff if you bargain. Picked up a few silk cushion covers for cheap that will go nicely on our sofa.

Went to Wat Chalong after that, and the temple was holding some kind of fair ~ there were stalls selling stuff and food and games. Very strange as it was in the middle of the temple grounds, a place where one would associate with peace and serenity.

Finally on to Phuket Fantasea. Even though we have been here before, it’s still a wonder to see the award-winning show and eat our fill at the giant buffet-hall. It good to see that the place is still packing the crowds in, and signs of recovery and re-building all over the island.

Got to pack now.

4 glorious days of doing nothing by Eat, Sleep, and Dive. Now this is what I call a holiday!

I think that after going on quite a few live-aboards for diving trips, we still like the MV Vilai Samut the best. Immaculately kept, friendly and helpful staff, and best of all, Thai Food All The Way!
Our Dive BoatKitchen and Rig-up area

Since there were only 6 of us onboard for this trip for a boat that takes a maximum of 22 divers, we were all pampered and well looked after by the staff. It was also very comfortable as there was more than enough room for all without getting into each other’s way.

Checked into our hotel yesterday, it was more than what we expected. The furnishings were luxurious, the rooms clean, and the location quiet, despite the close proximity to Patong. Highly recommended!

Going out to Wat Chalong later, and then to Phuket Fantasea themepark.

See ya!
