… was on Friday, 13 Jan (Happy Birthday Daddy!).

So we brought him down to Wild Rocket at Mount Emily for a little treat. Owned and operated by Wilin, this Lawer-turned-cook serves up tasty dishes all by himself in this hidden gem of a restaurant, tucked away at the Hangout Hotel on Mount Emily.
Wifeys order: Laksa pesto spaghetti with prawns and quail eggs.
Recommended dishes are the Laksa pesto spaghetti with prawn and quail eggs, the Strawberry Cheese cake served in a martini glass and the Chocolate gateau.

Best thing was, Wilin came out to have a chat with us after dinner, as he used to work together with wifey. Like I said before, it’s nice to have friends all over :D

Kudos to Wilin, for daring to dream, and the courage to seize the opportunity when it presented itself. Here’s wishing that I will one day be able to walk in his footsteps, and operate a little eatery of my own. In the meantime, I’ll just keep cooking and entertaining friends.

Dive Trip!
Ok, all reservations have been made ~ dive company, air travel & hotel reservation. All we have to do is to pack and prepare to go on Friday Morning.

We’ll be diving with Ocean Divers again. This was the very first boat that we’ve gone with when we started our diving hobby, and it’s also the boat where we met for the very first time. Call it destiny or fate, I think that we will always have fond memories for the “MV Vilai Samut”.

Will be trying the budget airlines this time, going up to Phuket with Jet Star Asia and returning via Tiger Airways. The only drawback of flying with budget airlines is the ungodly early hours they operate (7am!) for this route.

Finally, our hotel stay after we come back from the 4-day live-aboard will be at Amanta House. Wifey found this hotel while sufring for a reasonably-priced place to stay within Patong. We were captivated by the vibrant colour scheme and it’s location, and the fact that it’s so reasonably priced (USD$44 for a Deluxe Room) for a Boutique Hotel. Watch this space, reviews when we check-in!
