Monsieur, Global Frequency and Dim Sum
Well, it’s been 4 days since Monsieur came to stay with us, and we have discovered that he’s a very timid boy… the slightest noise will startle him. Also, he’s a very affectionate dog, and will find every opportunity to climb into our laps and look at us with his soulfull eyes.
I suppose that being a Show Dog, he’s had a rather sheltered life. And now, living with us in a relatively “noiser” environment, he’s taking a while to adjust. We shall see how he takes the next few weeks… afterall, Stanley was very well-behaved when he first came as well, and now he’s an absolute brat!
I’m totally hooked on what is probably the Greatest TV show Never Aired: Global Frequency. We managed to catch the pilot episode of the never released TV show… nope, I don’t have it, and nope, I won’t say where you can get hold of it - piracy is bad children - *BUT* if you do manage to get a copy… Wow. Pity only one episode was ever made… perhaps I’ll try to hunt down the comics?
We went to collect Mon Cakes at China Town today, tomorrow being the Mid-Autumn Festival, a fine excuse for kids of all ages to indulge in the inner pyromaniac in them. Wifey loves the “Ice-Skin” type and I love the Lotus Paste filling types and luckily we both prefer them without the egg yolks, so it’s not a problem to buy the stuff. Strangely enough, I didn’t know that it’s traditional for the kids to buy the moon cakes for parents come the festival. Oh well, you learn something new every day! Anyway, lunch was Dim Sum at the Mouth Restaurant in Chinatown Point, cheap, tasty and very, very filling. In all, a great way to spend $20.21 for Char Siew Buns, Har Gao, Steamed Carrot Cake and Century Egg porridge.
