Think I’ll have a snooze later, but first, a quick update:
1) I’ve finally finished the anime “Martian Successor Nadesico”
“The Earth is at war with an invading alien fleet. The aliens invade Mars and swiftly conquer the Earth colony. The survivors make it back to Earth. Unknown to the Space Navy, one of their contracting companies decide to design and build their OWN space battleship. To captain it, a young girl fresh out of college is selected because she did the best on the exams. To make matters worse, Yurika is also the daughter of one of the Navy admirals! The Nadesico is launched and proceeds to wage its own war on the aliens, while staying one step ahead of the disgruntled Navy.
This series might be your standard space-comedy… except for the crew of anime otaku who add a unique twist.”
Seriously wierd, totally whacked, and absoultely gut-ripping funny, this particular series was actually written in by the best the anime industry has to offer, each contributing 2-3 episodes to the overall series. But what really tickled me was that thw writers, were in a way poking fun at themselves… the *entire* crew of the battle ship were anime fans themselves - trying to do an anime-within-an-anime just takes the cake.
2) Stanley’s finally recovered. We guess he’s a pretty tough dog - but 3 weeks of sleeping on the floor downstairs just to take care of him is not something we’d like to go through again… >_< "
